Dear TANA members,

Please take a moment to read an important message that was recently sent by AANA President Dennis Bless, CRNA to all AANA members.

As part of our advocacy efforts to protect CRNA reimbursement and patient access to care, the AANA is currently supporting two letters circulating within the Democratic Caucus of the House of Representatives, and of the Senate Finance and HELP Committees, regarding implementation of the AANA-backed Provider Nondiscrimination law. As someone represented by a legislator within one or more of these groups, your help is needed in urging your Representative and/or Senator to support these efforts.

The Provider Nondiscrimination law was enacted by Congress to prohibit health plans from discriminating against qualified licensed healthcare professionals solely on the basis of their licensure.  This important law, supported by the AANA, aims to protect and increase patient access to covered health services by better assuring that patients are able to obtain the care that they need from the licensed and certified health professionals of their choice.

Please write your legislators today and urge them to sign the letters being circulated by Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA) in the Senate, and by Rep. Kurt Schrader (D-OR) in the House.

For all you do for your patients, practice and profession, thank you.

Dennis C. Bless, CRNA, MS

AANA President
