Dear Colleagues,

There’s something exciting happening at the AANA unlike anything that has been done before, and we need all AANA members to get involved!

For the last 10 months, the AANA has been working with the prominent communications firm, FleishmanHillard, to develop a positive yet assertive public education campaign that delivers to key audiences such as hospital administrators, policymakers, healthcare professionals, and others the important message that CRNAs are perfectly suited to meet today’s healthcare challenge of delivering safe, quality care to more people without burdening the healthcare system. Titled CRNAs: The Future of Anesthesia Care Today, the campaign further demonstrates that CRNAs provide the most cost-effective anesthesia care in all settings where anesthesia is delivered and ensure that patients in medically underserved communities have access to quality anesthesia care close to home.

The centerpiece of the campaign is a new website, www.future-of-anesthesia-care-today.com, which includes comprehensive resources designed to help hospital administrators, policymakers, and healthcare professionals make informed decisions on how to deliver quality care to more people at lower cost. The site includes summaries of landmark research studies on anesthesia patient safety and cost-effectiveness, helpful fact sheets, first-person stories told by CRNAs, infographics, and more. Be sure to inform members of these key audiences within your circle of influence about www.future-of-anesthesia-care-today.com.

In addition, as an AANA member you will find a wide range of public relations tools to support the campaign and your PR efforts in general on the private side of the AANA website athttp://www.aana.com/prtools (member login required). New materials will be added regularly, so be sure to make this your go-to place for PR tools and resources.

For easy and convenient access to both the PR Tools area on the AANA website as well as to the future-of-anesthesia-care-today microsite, be sure to bookmark the following link:www.aana.com/future-today.
